Satellite navigation has opened up new roads and new possibilities to the average car owner. What about travelers of the two-wheeled variety? Bicyclists rejoice! Mio has heard your pleas and answered them with the Mio Cyclo series of bicycle navigators.

Some days it’s just more fun to climb on and see where the bike paths take you. Not only will these compact personal navigation devices take riders to their planned destinations, the Cyclo’s new Surprise Me feature will put together a special bike route just for you.

Don’t let the Cyclo’s compact size fool you. The device’s robust waterproof construction takes the punishment of prolonged outdoor use, whether riding city streets, neighborhood paths, or heading to the hills.

The Cyclo 300 and 305 models come preinstalled with maps from Open Street Map and TeleAtlas. Each is compact enough to mount on your bike, while the robust non-glare screen makes it easy to read turn-by-turn directions.

Riding to stay fit? The Cyclo is the perfect training tool with built in calorie, distance, slope and speed monitors that allow you to record and share your fitness data. The Cyclo 305 even allows you to connect a heart rate and cadence sensor.

Mio Cyclo 300 and 305 hit store shelves in Europe this April with price points from 300 to 400 euros depending on model.

Mio products continue to make a splash with the Polish tech media. This time, it’s daily newspaper Gazeta Poliska Codziennie taking a shine to the Mio Spirit 487 GPS.

The publication’s tech reviewer praise an array of functions and pluses on the 487, including the device’s slick design, which is described as easy on the eyes. He also liked the navigator’s speedy “wake-up time” and quick acquisition of the GPS signal.

The Spirit 487’s free two-year map updates was also worthy of mention in the article, as well as the built-in ability to rent additional maps. The writer liked how the device warned of approaching lane changes and turns well in advance.

The reviewer saved his highest praise for the Spirit 487’s Bluetooth connectivity, which transforms the device into a convenient speaker for the driver’s mobile phone.

Gazeta Poliska Codziennie is one of Poland’s leading national newspapers with a daily circulation of 170,000 copies.

Not only is ancient Greece the cradle of Western civilization, but modern Greeks know a thing or two about their tech. That’s why it is such an honor that Mio received a glowing review of its Spirit 687 satellite navigation device on the country’s top Web portal and news site, Pathfinder.gr.

In the text and video article, Pathfinder reviewer Lady Limniati praises the Spirit 687’s robust form factor and ample five-inch screen. She goes on to list some of the device’s other strong selling points, including real-time TMC support, flexible and user-friendly menus, easy to read TruMap navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, convenient AV ports and simple-to-use hot buttons.

The negatives were few, but the author did think the Spirit 687 could benefit from a smaller car mount base as well as more comprehensive coverage of Greece.

Pathfinder is the first Web portal in Greece and remains one of the country’s most popular online destinations for news, entertainment and technology-related content.
